These are from a series of Red drawings in which she created a bunch of super fun animals that I love.  Her descriptions are below.

Grif half doggie half panther it "grifs and growls"

Fishiphant you fish for it and it makes a "mmmm" when you pull it.

Liok is half lion and half fish it growls when you pull it up.

Half duck half koala it quacks quacks and climbs tree.

Here are some more of my favorites.  I think it's the attention to detail and the color choices that I love so much.  She has so much more patience than I am capable of.  Plus the super cute initials are hard to beat.

Today we spent the morning with friends so we haven't had any drawing time.  This is an older picture of Red's that I really love.  It's the background that I chose for the blog and a detailed drawing of a flower from her Kindergarten class.  I love the little dots around the flower stems.  They are sunflowers according to Red.

These drawings happened on the same day.  We have the originals framed at home.  I'm thinking of making them into cards for correspondence and thank you's.

Welcome Everyone

Most of you know that Red's Favorite thing to do is "art." Sometimes she says she has to go "make" which means sit in her room and draw, draw, draw.  Red loves to create and we spend a lot of our time taking pictures of her art and her making her art so we thought, "Hey! Let's just dedicate a blog to Red and her art."  So here we are.

Red is 6 today!

Today Red was nervous about going to camp.  She occupied herself by writing a little story about a girl who found a box of kittens in her backyard.  Her mom told her she could keep the kittens and take them home "hom." The little girl was very happy.  Here is a picture of the little girl talking to the box of kittens.

Red made me a bracelet today using the beads and pipe cleaners from a birthday present.  I wore it all day, often forgetting it was on because it is so light weight.  I love the colors of the beads that she chose for me.
